Mr. Darr is a graduate of Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has education, training, and experience in design, development, testing, and evaluation of mechanical systems. He has extensive experience in the manufacturing and testing of tires.
As a tire development engineer for a tire manufacture and senior tire engineer for an automotive company, Mr. Darr participated in the design, development, testing, and production of tires. During his tenure, he participated in the certification of new tire products through rigorous testing of quality and performance. He also was responsible for verifying that all standards and regulations were met related to the tire product and the tire pressure monitoring sensors, and is experience in C3M manufacturing and the PAX runflat tire system. He has visited numerous tire production plants including Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone, and Continental tire. He also participated in tire reconstruction analysis to aid in accident investigations. He has qualified as an expert in Federal courts and has investigated various tires such as radial medium truck, light truck, and passenger.
In addition to Mr. Darr’s tire design, manufacturing, and investigation experience, he has vehicle accident reconstruction experience as well as crash data recorder downloads and interpretations. He is also a Forensic Traffic Specialist, evaluating traffic signals as it related to collisions. Mr. Darr has tested and evaluated products, materials, machinery, and plumbing components to determine the origin and cause of a particular failure. He is also knowledgeable about the regulatory requirements as well as industry and safety standards of product manufacturers.
