Mr. Castano obtained his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, both from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL. Mr. Castano is a Professional Engineer license in Florida.
Mr. Castano has experience with the construction of residential and commercial properties, as well as construction materials testing and quality control. Mr. Castano has several years of experience in geotechnical engineering and construction, deep foundation construction, and working with state and government agencies. His background is in engineering-during-construction (EDC), geotechnical engineering and design, and construction-inspection of roadways and bridges.
Mr. Castano possesses a unique combination of civil, structural, transportation and geotechnical experience. He also has experience performing failure analysis, investigation, and forensic engineering pertaining to various civil engineering related systems including residential and commercial structures, soils, retaining structures, concrete, masonry, waterproofing details, and building codes.
Mr. Castano is also trained to assess damage to all major types of residential steep slope roofs, including wind and hail, and can evaluate installation, weathering, maintenance, mechanical damages and repair costs of asphalt composition, wood shingle/shake, concrete, clay tile, and asbestos-fiber cement roof coverings.
