Ms. Beckett attended University of California at Berkeley where she studied civil engineering and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida Atlantic University in Ocean Engineering. Ms. Beckett’s forensic engineering experience includes performing damage assessments of properties impacted by Hurricane Sandy to determine repair scope in conformance with NYCRRP guidelines, inspecting water supply plumbing, roofs, electrical circuits, heating systems, and/or foundations during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to specifications and codes. She also monitored installation of plumbing, wiring, equipment, and/or appliances to ensure that installation is performed properly and is in compliance with applicable regulations.
Ms. Beckett has managed large residential renovation projects which included scoping and design of foundation work, stucco, waterproofing, rough framing, interior finish carpentry, windows and doors, deck and driveway construction, complete kitchen and bath renovations including cabinetry, plumbing, roof systems, and drainage improvements. She has performed over 230 Building Envelope and HVAC system PE confirmation inspections and served as an auditor for southern California’s high voltage line construction projects.
Ms. Beckett is also a nationally certified arborist and has managed habitat restoration projects which included hundreds of acres of land clearing, earthwork, irrigation, construction of a concrete bridge for fire access on pier foundation, access road construction and natural areas landscaping.
