Mr. Yanko obtained his Bachelors and PhD in Structural Engineering with a Masters in Geotechnical Engineering. He is an accomplished professional structural engineer with extensive experience in the design and construction of low, mid and high-rise buildings.
Mr. Yanko has expertise in the design of different structural systems, including reinforced concrete, post-tensioning, steel, timber, precast and masonry. He is also experienced in building inspections, permitting and writing and preparing design specifications for a variety of buildings. He is also experienced in mitigating potential legal issues for already built structures.
As a Project Manager on several high-rise structures, Mr. Yanko has reviewed engineer of record construction documents for compliance with architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing requirements and completeness of necessary details and specifications for construction. Mr. Yanko’s responsibilities also included analyzing construction budgets, writing contracts and purchase orders, approving change orders, writing RFI’s, and supervising field execution. Furthermore, Mr. Yanko is experienced in handling job site conflict resolution between the owner, the General Contractor, the sub-contractors and the design engineers and able to solve such problems as scheduling conflicts or delays, cost-overruns and identifying design deficiencies.
Mr. Yanko was a guest lecturer and teacher at the University of Florida speaking on such topics as the “Analysis and Design of Steel Structures” and he has published several articles on the thermal activity of concrete and patching materials under extreme loading.
