Civil Engineering Opportunities
We are seeking engineers with failure analysis experience. The candidate must have the ability to analyze various residential and commercial building failures to determine causation, and write professional, concise reports. A Professional Engineering License (P.E.) is required.
This full time position involves inspections of various buildings to determine the cause of damages, including damages from improper design, improper construction, storm related damages, misuse, lack of maintenance, and intentional damages. Most travel will be same day with an occasional overnight. Experience with any of the following is preferred: forensic engineering, residential construction, commercial construction, code enforcement, code inspection, roofing experience, facilities maintenance, materials testing, home inspections, expert witness testimony, residential design, storm damage assessments, etc.
Mechanical Engineering Opportunities
The engineer will conduct automotive, mechanical, electrical and building envelope evaluations to determine cause of failure, damages or injury. Investigations may include structural water intrusion, moisture source identification, air conditioning failures, plumbing issues, and evaluating various components to identify potential defects. Experience inspecting vehicles, heavy equipment, and other mechanical and electrical systems is preferred. Candidates must have strong writing skills. A Professional Engineering License (P.E.) by examination is required.
Opportunities for Fire Investigators
Our investigators evaluate residential and commercial properties to determine the origin and cause of fires. This entails assessing whether the fire is a result of a construction defect, material, equipment, appliance failure, lack of maintenance, third party contribution, or arson. Experience in investigating the origin and cause of vehicle or heavy equipment fires is preferred. Candidates must have strong writing skills. A CFI or CFEI certification is required.
