American Red Cross – Hurricane Ida Relief
More than a month after Hurricane Ida hit the Gulf Coast, some areas are still without power and people are working hard to get back on their feet. From the Gulf Coast to the Northeast, the Red Cross is working tirelessly alongside our partners to help people recover from Hurricane Ida. In addition to providing emergency shelters for people in Louisiana and New Jersey, the Red Cross has provided financial assistance to more than 2,600 households — encompassing some 7,400 people — who have experienced loss due to Hurricane Ida. This financial assistance will allow people to make their own decisions and prioritize what their family needs most to start recovering.
Our line of work frequently brings us into heavily damaged areas immediately following a storm event. In every instance, the American Red Cross is also there – doing what they can with what they have available.”
