We are happy to announce that Kevin Departhy, P.E. has joined our Charlotte, NC team of engineers. Mr. Departhy is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is licensed in NC, SC, GA, FL, and VA. His professional experience includes forensic evaluations of mechanical systems which have failed or were subject to fire. He has designed and constructed HVAC and boiler systems and supervised installation for large commercial projects. Mr. Departhy also served as a cyber security engineer for Critical Asset (CDA) identification and support of assessments. In addition, Mr. Departhy assisted with the design of mechanical systems for nuclear plants.
Mr. Departhy also has experience in the design of roadways, grading, drainage, and utility systems for commercial and residential developments. He ensured compliance with state and local codes and monitored construction. His previous forensic engineering experience includes failure analysis of mechanical systems and equipment including plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinklers, gas (natural gas and propane) components and piping, duct-work systems, gas and electric appliances, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, pumps, air handlers, condensing units, furnaces, heat exchangers, and other mechanical equipment and appurtenances. He also conducts laboratory examinations of equipment, appliances, and components to determine root causes of failure.
