We are happy to announce the newest engineer to join the U.S. Forensic family, Neil Weghorst. Mr. Weghorst obtained his Masters degree in Civil Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology after his Bachelors degree from Michigan State University and is a registered professional engineer in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Florida.
Mr. Weghorst has performed more than 2000 forensic evaluations to determine the cause and origin of structural damage and failures. He investigated storm damage including hail, wind, and flood evaluations as well as failures associated with construction defect.
He designed structural aspects of residential, commercial, educational and religious structures using wood, steel, concrete and masonry design. After a fire, he evaluated structures to determine structural integrity and method of repair. Mr. Weghorst created the layout and design of roof and floor trusses for residential structures. He conducted testing of asphalt, concrete and soils for various structural projects, and has experience with soil borings, soil reports, breaking concrete cylinders and other laboratory procedures related to geotechnical engineering. Mr. Weghorst has provided testimony in cases involving moisture intrusion, storm damage.
