Mrs. Gomez earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University with an additional major in Spanish. She is currently earning her master’s degree in Business Administration from West Texas A&M. Her primary experience includes land development, construction project management and plan implementation for commercial, municipal and military projects.
Mrs. Gomez designed and managed land development projects from multiple clients ranging from pharmacy, fuel stations, retail, fast casual restaurants and residential. She created conceptual, preliminary and final construction plans and managed their construction. Mrs. Gomez used stormwater modeling programs to design effective and compliant drainage systems. She also performed site inspections with contractors and city officials to ensure construction compliance with plans and specifications. Working with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, she served as the Project Engineer for the Dissolved Oxygen Injection System, a one of a kind facility responsible for injecting and maintaining necessary oxygen levels to sustain marine wildlife during drought conditions. As an Engineer Military Officer with the Army Corps of Engineers, she managed multiple construction projects to include an anti-ballistic missile system security perimeter, military simulation raid village, pure water tanker storage facility, and communications outpost and sidewalk. She worked on construction projects with the Army Corps of Engineers, Navy Seabees and NAVFAC, the Air Force Red Horse Squadron and civilian organizations.
