Mr. Blotta obtained a Master of Science in Structural Engineering & Materials and a Bachelor of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering and has over eight years of professional design experience for new construction, retrofit construction, and fall protection services as a structural and civil engineer. Mr. Blotta’s primary experience has been in construction of mid to high rise structures, including lateral analysis, foundation design and floorplate & gravity design for both existing and new construction. Additional experiences include retrofit construction of existing structures while coordinating with owner’s representatives, mechanical engineers, contractors, and architects. Mr. Blotta’s main responsibilities are structural design and analysis, drafting and compilation of drawing sets, and construction administration.
Mr. Blotta is proficient in wide selection of structural analytical softwares, including 3D finite element analysis such as RAM, ETABS, ADAPT, SAP2000 & RISA and modeling & drafting tools such as Revit & AutoCAD. Mr. Blotta’s structural design experience includes deep and shallow foundations, reinforced and prestressed concrete, masonry, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and timber building material projects.
Mr. Blotta has also been responsible for the design, layout, and assessment of fall protection systems for access requirements, controlled descent, leading edge protection and window washing/maintenance services for commercial, industrial, institutional, governmental, and pharmaceutical industries. Fall protection systems include passive controls, such as guardrails and barriers, as well as active controls such as Personal Fall Arrest Systems, Horizontal Lifeline Systems, and rope descent & davit base systems.
