Mr. Kamanda is a Civil Engineer with over twelve years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience. In 2000, Mr. Kamanda joined the Richmond, Virginia branch office of Schnabel Engineering, LLC where he worked as Project Engineer for nine years. He has managed a variety of geotechnical engineering and construction projects for private industries, local and tribal governments, transportation, energy, healthcare, education, hospitality and commercial sectors in several states along the east coast and southern parts of the U.S., and abroad. His background includes geotechnical engineering projects management, engineering forensics, design of shallow and deep foundations for buildings, bridges, pavements, earth retaining structures, etc.
Mr. Kamanda’s experience includes site evaluation, preparation of proposals, and determining project budgets based on scope of works. He has been involved in the planning, formulation and implementation of appropriate subsurface exploration programs for new construction as well as determining and assigning appropriate laboratory testing for projects and review test results. He has experience with providing technical and operational guidance for geotechnical engineering projects involving shallow and deep foundations including spread footings drilled shafts, auger-cast piles, etc and determining types and methods of foundation construction, in-situ testing, etc. He has designed shallow and deep foundation systems, soil retention systems, pavements, etc.
