Premises Liability Evaluations

Our forensic engineering experts conduct premises liability evaluations of private, public, and commercial properties.

Premises Liability Evaluations

Experts confirm code compliance with NFPA, ADA, and other standards.  In the event of an accident or injury, our experts assess premises to determine:

  • Proper signage
  • Adequate lighting
  • Slip resistance of flooring
  • Code compliance of stairways and railings
  • Code compliance of walkways, curbs, and handicap ramps

Our experts can determine compliance with the attractive nuisance requirements for areas such as swimming pools, construction sites, equipment yards and retention ponds.

XL Tribometer

We have Certified Tribometrists on staff that can operate the  English XL VIT.  These are articulated strut devices that are preferred over other types of tribometers because they measure wet slip resistance, are portable, and include a variety of features that simulate human ambulatory mechanics including heel contact of the leading leg when walking. The biofidelity of the English XL VIT tribometer allows a forensic engineer certified in its proper use (“CXLT” certification) to obtain meaningful slip resistance values of walkway surfaces to help property owners ensure the safety of visitors and provide walkway surfaces with sufficient slip resistance to reduce the likelihood of slip and fall injuries.
