Mr. Santillana is a graduate of Florida International University with a M.S. in Structural Engineering. Mr. Santillana’s background includes responsibility for the design, detailing and construction administration functions of various building projects as a structural engineer consultant. He has extensive experience with commercial, residential, institutional and hospitality design projects. Additionally, Mr. Santillana has experience with building envelope components, field investigation work regarding code compliance issues and building recertification.
As a forensic engineer, Mr. Santillana’s responsibilities include performing forensic investigations of structural related failures to residential and commercial structures. Responsibilities primarily involve the following: Inspection of roofing, flooring, and building envelope damage (exterior wall finishes, windows, glazing systems); Inspection of waterproofing details, construction materials, storm damage, water infiltration damage, construction methods and contract performance disputes; Investigation of building code compliance issues; Determination of cause and origin of these respective damages and issue reports to the clients with the findings obtained from the investigation and analysis of the project.
