Structural Fire Investigations
U.S. Forensic conducts fire investigations of residential and commercial properties to determine the origin and cause of fires. We assess whether the fire is a result of a construction defect, material, equipment, appliance failure, lack of maintenance, third party contribution, or arson. When warranted, U.S. Forensic utilizes the FARO 3-D laser scanner to obtain 3-D images of the scene.
U.S. Forensic also provides asbestos clearance after a fire.
Automotive & Equipment Fire Investigations
U.S. Forensic determines the origin and cause of vehicle or heavy equipment fires. We assess whether the loss is a result of a manufacturing defect, improper service or repair, lack of maintenance, improper use, or arson. Fluid samples are taken and mechanical inspection is performed to determine if any mechanical damage was present prior to the fire.
Vehicle Thefts
If a fire is associated with a vehicle theft, our experts possess the tools and experience to complete a comprehensive theft investigation. In addition to identifying a breach in the theft deterrent system and the method of entry, our engineers can perform a key and ignition analysis. Keys, transponder, anti-theft and engine immobilizer systems are analyzed to determine how a vehicle was stolen and whether a key was used, duplicated, or the engine immobilizer system was bypassed.
