Accident Reconstruction Experts
Our court-qualified accident reconstruction experts can reconstruct an accident to determine speed, reaction times, stopping distances, driver input, and mechanical failures. Also, reconstructionists can compare the accounts of drivers and witnesses with the physical evidence at the scene. We have completed accident reconstruction cases involving:
- Passenger Vehicles
- Commercial Vehicles
- Motorcycles
- Vehicle Rollovers
- Minor Impact Accidents
- Multi-Vehicle Accidents
- Train & Vehicle Collisions
Biomechanical engineers are available to assist our mechanical engineers and ACTAR certified accident reconstruction experts. They calculate the amount and direction of forces associated with a particular accident. With this information, they can determine if injury reported is consistent with the facts of the case.
Vehicle Accident Animation
Our experts can reconstruct an accident and present the facts in an animated form.
Crash Data Retrieval
Our mechanical engineers download crash data (CDR or “Black Box” data) from electronic control modules (ECM) of passenger and commercial vehicles. Depending on the make and model of the vehicle, this data can provide the client with speed, braking, acceleration, and other key factors associated with the event. This information may be key in assisting our accident reconstruction experts. Contact us to learn which passenger vehicles record data that can be retrieved from the airbag control modules (ACM), roll-over sensors (ROS), or powertrain control modules (PCM).
3D Laser Scanner & Accident Scene Reconstruction
By utilizing the 3D laser technology provided by our FARO Scanner, our accident reconstruction experts can create a 3D replica of the accident scene, including measurements, vehicle position, damage including undercarriage, distances, and scene and roadway surface information. For example, if a case involves reported hydroplaning, our expert can obtain a 3D image of the roadway surface and exact measurements of pavement wheel ruts to obtain water depth measurements. With these measurements, our experts can create a model of the roadway surface in question to demonstrate water depth and its role in a case. With this technology, our accident reconstruction experts can create a 3D animation of how a collision occurred and can preserve the accident scene.
Tire Failures
Our tire experts provide clients with the information they need to make sound decisions regarding a tire failure case or claim. Visit our Tire Failure Analysis page, U.S. Forensic article How to Get the Most Traction on Your Tire Failure Case, or visit TireExpert.com for more information.
